Conclusion internship Scotland

Some weeks have passed by and I’ve got some new thoughts on the internship. As I’ve mentioned in my goals I wanted to find out more about the Scottish culture, which I did. When we arrived I already noticed the accent, of course. But our host came from England, originally. So I didn’t really notice it until we came in contact with some Scottish people with accents. Aside from that, I had to get used to the different phrases they use and different food they eat (although we bought our own food so that’s one aspect I didn’t really experience). Aside from some small other things, I found that the Scottish and Dutch culture were actually quite alike.

I also wanted to find out more about running a campsite, which I did a bit but not as much as I would have liked to. They were very open about the campsite, but it just wasn’t that busy. The internship however, did really grow my feeling of independence. We did everything ourselves, worked in an international environment and dealt with the problems that faced us. I can say that the internship was a success, I experienced new things, learned more about Scotland and learned about working in an international environment.
