Pam said that she would take us around the area today, which she did. After sleeping in we left the campsite around 11 and went to the Sweetheart Abbey, in New Abbey. The abbey was built by someone who died and the wife carried his heart around till she died, she was “lady devor gillor”. We then went to a viewpoint (drumburn) to see the Irish Sea, the soulway coast. After the nice view we went to a museum about “John Paul Jones”, the father of the American navy. The reason why he’s so famous here is because he was born here and the museum was actually his childhood cottage. We continued to see some more coastline at Powill mount, there were a lot of rocks. She actually showed us the Southerness Lighthouse and a bit later the Sandy hills bay, where we got some delicious ice-cream. After driving some miles further we arrived at Rockcliff, where everybody takes their dogs apparently, but we didn’t mind at all. The last place we stopped was “Kippfort”, the home of a lot of boats. To finish the day off, we had dinner at “the Steamboat inn” in Carsathorn.
Bye,
Arita
